HB 450 wear-resistant steel plates are made of a low-alloyed steel with a content of carbon in the range of 0.26% to 0.40%. Major alloying elements are manganese (up to 1.60%), silicon (up to 0.60%), chromium (up to 1.40%), nickel (up to 1.50%), and molybdenum (up to 0.60%). The above elements increase the hardness and wear resistance of the steel. Mechanical properties are a Brinell hardness of 425–475 HBW, yield strength of about 1240 MPa, and elongation of about 10%. Such properties render HB 450 plates ideal for high-impact and abrasion environments.
