Rockstar 500 is an abrasion-resistant steel, whose hardness lies between 450–540 BHN and is manufactured through quenching and tempering processes. Its chemical composition consists of carbon (up to 0.30%), manganese (1.60%), silicon (up to 0.70%), phosphorus (up to 0.025%), sulfur (up to 0.010%), chromium (up to 1.50%), nickel (up to 1.50%), molybdenum (up to 0.70%), boron (up to 0.0040%), and a carbon equivalent (CE) of up to 0.65%. Mechanical characteristics consist of yield strength 1250 MPa, tensile strength 1500 MPa, elongation 8%, and impact toughness 27 J at -30°C, making them durable in extreme conditions .
