Typically, they contain a maximum of 0.21% carbon, 0.55–1.30% manganese, along with controlled amounts of phosphorus and sulfur. These plates boast a minimum yield strength of 260 MPa and tensile strength that ranges from 415–550 MPa. They undergo a normalization process to boost their toughness and are impact tested at -50°C to meet NACE standards, making them ideal for use in sour environments where corrosion is a significant concern.
