S890QL is a high-strength structural steel with a minimum yield point of 890 MPa, manufactured in accordance with EN 10025-6 specifications. Its chemical composition is carbon (max 0.22%), manganese (max 1.80%), silicon (max 0.80%), phosphorus (max 0.020%), sulfur (max 0.010%), chromium (max 1.50%), copper (max 0.50%), molybdenum (max 0.70%), nickel (max 2.00%), niobium (max 0.06%), vanadium (max 0.12%), titanium (max 0.05%), and boron (max 0.0050%). Mechanical properties are thickness-dependent: yield strength for plates of thickness 3–50 mm is 890 MPa, tensile strength is 940–1100 MPa, and elongation is at least 11%. Impact toughness is 50 J at 0°C, 40 J at -20°C, and 30 J at -40°C .
