AISI 1045 is a medium carbon steel with a carbon level of between 0.43% and 0.50%. Its composition consists of about 0.60% to 0.90% manganese, 0.15% to 0.35% silicon, and negligible phosphorus and sulfur content. This steel material provides a tensile strength of between 570 MPa and 700 MPa, yield strength of between 310 MPa and 450 MPa, and elongation at break of between 14% and 16%.
