SAE 1045 steel plate and sheet is a medium carbon steel containing approximately 0.43–0.50% carbon, 0.60–0.90% manganese, and trace amounts of sulfur and phosphorus. It offers strong mechanical properties, including a tensile strength of 570–700 MPa, a yield strength of 300 MPa, and a hardness of 170–210 HB. Known for its excellent strength, satisfactory weldability, and improved machinability, SAE 1045 steel is ideal for manufacturing shafts, gears, and structural components that require toughness and wear resistance.
