ASME SA 519 Grade MT X 1020 Tubing is a low-carbon alloy steel containing mostly carbon (0.18–0.23%) and manganese (0.30–0.60%). It has a good machinability and weldability. This tubing illustrates excellent mechanical properties such as tensile strength of around 420 MPa, yield strength of about 350 MPa, and elongation of 25% in 50 mm. It also has good ductility and surface hardness, allowing it to be used for cold drawing and forming. These characteristics make it suitable for both structural and mechanical applications that demand accuracy and reliability.
