Alloy Steel AISI 8620 Bars consist of major constituents such as carbon (0.18-0.23%), manganese (0.70-0.90%), chromium (0.40-0.60%), molybdenum (0.15-0.25%), and nickel (0.40-0.70%). All these constituents add to its toughness, hardenability, and wear resistance. The typical mechanical properties are tensile strength of 860 MPa, yield strength of 690 MPa, and very good elongation of 20%. With a Brinell hardness of 250–290 HB, AISI 8620 steel possesses excellent machinability and ductility and is suitable for both core strength and surface hardening purposes.
