EN 8 Sheets and Plates are medium carbon steel grades with a typical chemical composition of 0.35–0.45% carbon, 0.60–1.00% manganese, and small amounts of silicon, sulfur, and phosphorus. EN 8 plates possess good tensile strength, typically 500–800 MPa, and Brinell hardness of 201. EN 8 material is well known for good machinability and average wear resistance.
