Carbon Steel EN-9 Bars, to BS 970 specifications, contain 0.50–0.60% Carbon, 0.50–0.80% Manganese, and 0.05–0.35% Silicon with limited Phosphorus and Sulfur content at 0.06% max. These factors help to build the steel’s tensile strength at 540–700 MPa, yield strength of about 340 MPa, and Brinell hardness of 170–200 HB. Heat-treated EN-9 steel possesses improved hardness and wear resistance, appropriate for tough applications.
