Carbon Steel EN-24 Bars consist mainly of Carbon (C) 0.36–0.44%, Manganese (Mn) 0.45–0.70%, Silicon (Si) 0.10–0.35%, Phosphorus (P) ≤0.035%, Sulfur (S) ≤0.040%, Chromium (Cr) 1.00–1.40%, Nickel (Ni) 1.30–1.70%, and Molybdenum (Mo) 0.20–0.35%. These bars are heat treated at 850–860°C, then oil quenched and tempered at 175–200°C, which gives a hardness of 62–64 HRC. This blend of composition and heat treatment gives them high strength, wear resistance, and very good machinability and makes them ideal for critical applications.
