253MA UNS S30815 is an austenitic stainless steel alloy made to exhibit high-temperature strength and resistance to oxidation. Its chemical composition is 21% chromium, 11% nickel, 1.7% silicon, and 0.17% nitrogen, to which rare earth elements are added for improved performance. The alloy provides superior mechanical properties with a tensile strength of approximately 600 MPa and a yield strength of about 310 MPa. It can withstand structure at temperatures up to 1150°C and is resistant to thermal fatigue, scaling, and oxidation, as a sound material for high-stress conditions.
